Hi

We've just bought a 1994 Trigano Randger 575tc folding camper and I'm about to book a weekend away. Just not sure if we're now classified as a tent or a caravan as some campsites don't allow one or the other. Thanks.

So far as I can tell mainly, you have the best of both worlds, the caravan club will allow you on all their sites - cos where you are in contact with the ground, you are almost exactly the same. In terms of 'tent only' sites you emphasise the canvas lol!

The annoying thing is how many places don't actually have a 'folding camper' category when you are setting serch parameters to look for sites, as I say though, you just use this to your advantage! either way, there are so many sites in this country and abroad, you are bound to find loads you want to visit and the triganos are lovely, so you should have a whale of a time!

good advice above just to add some sites are tent only because the road/track leading to them are not good for caravan/large fc's

Essentially it's both.   Some campsites recognise them only when you describe it as they do sometimes confuse with tt or a proper folding caravan such as Gobur.  You're right about there not being a category but I guess as their popularity is growing there soon will be,
