Sorry, this might have been covered before, but I searched for about an hour and couldn't find my answer anywhere!
I have just purchased a 2003 Conway Crusader, and the roof liner and bed inner tents/pods are all uncliped/taken down. Can any of these be left clipped up when packing away? What do you people out there do with Crusaders? Any answeres/suggestions are welcome!
Additionally any other experience time saving tips would be appreciated!
Hi, we have a crusader and always leave the roof liner /bed liners up until the end of the season, we have also cut 6''inches off our water filling pipe and have attached it to the black drain pipe on the sink, now slide it down the drain pipe this will stop the water coming back up to flood the camper.also spray a silicon spray on the sliders to help with the opening up.Make sure you empty the front locker and connect the gas before you slide out the beds, saves bending double to get things out. If its only the two of you take out the end cupboard it will leave you a big open space to store every thing.
Our crusader 2010, we leave everything in. Sleeping bags attached also, pillows in clear plastic are used as inside protection. We left everything in this winter and had no problems, however next winter I intend to take everything out to inspect and clean. Like the idea 846rosie had with drain pipe, we experience a overspill once and learnt by that. So I replaced the whole sink pipe with a longer draining pipe.
We leave everything in and just remove for end of summer wash and store indoors.
Re the fold-down cupboard. Am also removing it this year so that I have more space for storage on the move ... e.g. and extra fridge (needed in Southern Europe) and two inflatable boats.
Never used the cupboard for much, and it has to be emptied (mostly) for towing anyway. Mind you, there have been a couple of excellent conversions with plastic drawers ... see the 'what mods have you made to your FC' thread.
Thanks all for your kind replies/advise. I gave it a trial run yesterday, but had to unclip one end of the roof liner as it nearly ripped off during closure! I have a 2003 crusader with slide out beds, not fold over, so I think this is where the problem is! Still bed tents and 2/3rds of a roof liner left up saves loads of time! Feeling very happy!
