Evening,

Could anyone please recommend a model of gazebo that we could leave up while on holiday.

I have had a look at quite alot on the net but they state that you musn't leave them up overnight or in high winds. Many of the reviews have also stated that they have left them overnight and have been damged.

Need one for our holiday for the front of our trailer tent so I would be really grateful if anyone has or knows of a good make.

Many Thanks

Lammys

to be honest have never found a stable one which is also small enough to take camping.have you given any thought to a day tent?ours has stood up to some very strong winds including the tail end of a hurricane a couple of years ago.

another point is that a fair few campsites no longer allow gazebos because of the damage they can do when blown away.

We've ordered a Sunncamp day room with the intention of using it as a gazebo as all 4 sides roll up. It should stand up to bad weather much better than a gazebo.

Coleman do a "shelter" which is a lot more stable than a gazebo. If you google Coleman shelter, you can have a look.

We have something like below.

No problems leaving it up overnight.

It's reduced at the minute too.

I have a 3x3m "pop up" metal framed gazebo.  Dont buy one of those ASDA plastic framed ones  they really are rubbish

I have left it up for the whole week away with no problems, it has guy ropes to peg it down.

As already stated, the big drawbacks are its weight, and the size of the folded down bag (about 5 foot long). I needed something I could stand up in and walk about in without stooping down like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I've been looking at the pop up Gazebos recently. Wanted to buy on for a porch awning for when my daughter and I go off with the Pennine Sterling. I cant get the awning up on my own so was hoping to get a gazebo. I've found one in a turquoise the same colour as the camper at £64 but didn't realise, until it was said here that some sites wouldn't let me have it up. Are there many sites that have this rule? I would hesitate to buy one if I couldn't use it.

I think many sites now ban gazebos. Those that allow then seem to charge extra. But I wouldn't use one on a site, we've had several at home for functions and they aren't designed to be left up if the weather turns nasty.

We're looking for an extension to our TT as it's a bit too small to sit in comfortably and sadly ours cannot have an awning attached to it. A day room might be the answer. We've looked at the Coleman shelter (for home use) - it is a great bit of kit, but very big and doesn't pack down small.

I think i'll just use the Quechua base tent that we have then instead of getting a Gazebo. Thanks I would have bought one that I couldn't use.
