Power Drill and Attachment to speed up the winding up and down process of the Corner Steadies, best bit of equiptment bought so far, and so quick.  (Many thanks to our Motor Mover Fitter who demonstrated it to us.)

Well that is our month long trip over and we are back home now.

4 pack ups and assemblies and we have it down to a fine art now.

We found the best way to put up the curtains was immediately after raising the poles to full height. At each pack up and after the furniture was folded, from the outside, but inside the canvas, I would detatch the curtain wires and lay the curtains over the top of the furniture at each window. As each wire end also has a coded plastic tie wrap to stop the curtains coming off the wires, each set remained in place on its wire and ready to be lifted and fitted into place on the poles at re-assembly.

We have done away with the second curtain in the Loo and just use the one curtain there.

There was a Pennine Sterling on one site we were on and he was using wood dowling rods with a curtain wire hook screwed into each end. He hung these hooks from the existing inner roof lining hoops.

However I personally am against this idea because if it was forcast to be wet the following day and we wanted a quick get-away, we could remove the roof lining the night before and pack it away. Without that lining, unless you are using the wire between the poles to hang your curtains, you cannot remove the roof lining.

We have also decided against adding plastic clips to the ends of the wires instead of the standard hooks. The hooks looped around the poles and onto the wire are working well and if it aint broke, why fix it?

Welcome back,

Can't believe 4 weeks have gone by so quick, thought you had another week to go, we can stop looking at the NI weather forcast tommorow now, pleased to hear your new curtain set up worked well for you.

We did manage a long weekend away and took our 7 yr old grandaughter with us camping for just the one night, (and 2 whole days) she'd never been with us before, and one night was plenty, had forgotten how demanding kids are, she enjoyed it and asked if she could camp two nights with us next time.

 We just need another weekend away to get over that one eventful night, though we did enjoy playing lots of outdoor games on the camp field with her, which we don't normally do, but we did also miss out on our calm relaxing 'me'/ 'us' time.
