Hi,

Am the soon to be (pick it up tomorrow) proud owner of a Conway Countryman 1996 model. Is there any chance someone has a copy of the manual and any other useful stuff they can e-mail me phil.awesome78 at gmail.com

Also, with the electrics, when hooked up to a 240v supply, does that charge the battery and also power the 12v circuit as well as the 240v sockets? We also have a 110ah leisure battery to install so I wondered what are peoples recommendations for a charger to look after it when not camping. Am looking at Ring or CTEK ones at the moment but so much choice and different specs, would welcome some advice!

Finally, has anyone got any tips for constructing higher seat backs for the bench seats like the new models? Am thinking about using fittings for handrails and tubing so it can be removed when folding down.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am sorry I can't help with the manual but if all else fails there is a guy on ebauy that sells a disc or pdf copy with it all on.

Yes when hooked up to site electricity it charges the battery. I have a feeling though that your 110 battery might not fit - we could only fit an 85ah one into the box on our Fiesta but I am not sure where it goes on a 96 Countryman - if it's under one of the bench seats you will be ok. We bought a trickle charger from Halfords for ours but I believe you can get one that keeps it permenantly topped up.

Your ideas for the seat backs sound good. Don't forget to post pics when you have done it.

Hi i would like to see you mods for the seats on completion, but cant see how and where you are going to fit the new proposed bracketing  to  the existing seats,  we just use cushion pads or pull the edge of the bedding down for our conway countryman seats which we find comfy and adequate.Hope you enjoy the Countryman as much as we do, easy to put up especially the awning and sun canopy, best of luck George
