We have just bought this elderly but spritely 1980's Gobur Carousel folding caravan model 12/2TD.. Can anyone give advice  as to whether an awning can be attached? Any information would be much appreciated thank you.

Congratulations on your new van!

We didn't have a Gobur, we had an Esterel but we had an awning. Do you have an awning rail? Aluminium channel running up the sides and across the top of the door side? If so you can have an awning. We measured our Esterel from the floor up through and along the awning rail then back down the other side to the floor (A measurement) that will give you the size of awning you need.

You can attach an awning.
gobur do a range of awnings for them but they are a bit pricey.
It is worth giving them a ring to see if they have any used ones for sale.
I bought a eurovent sancere from Jeff Bowen awnings for mine and it fits perfectly.
If you go to the Gobur web site and click on new carousels then technical you will find your model and it also gives you the awning size.

Thanks guys, I have noticed the channel for an awning - I don't know why I didn't spot it earlier! I shall have a look around for a second-hand awning.

I had a look on Gobur website the size of the awning you require is 720 cm

Thanks for your help John. Have also discovered I need  a new rubber seal around the roof and a new roof vent - I think these are going to be the priorities for the moment but if a second hand awning came up at a good price I would be tempted!

I have done both of these on mine bought the roof seal direct from Gobur I think it was about £42 and the roof vent from Leisure shop direct.
