why does the cover of my folding camper lift up and fill with air when im driving along, i know its a silly question but should it do this or have i not got the cover on right

this happens to alot of people it is to do with the air flow over your car,with mine the air lifts the rear of the cover,but if i have the roof box on it lifts from the front.

so now if i have the box on i pull the cover down at the front.

Even with a tight cord, we found that the cover lifts anyway, the air flowing over it lifts it up. We tried tying cord over the top of the cover to hold it down.. front to rear and then side to side. This did help but didn't cure it.

The final and most permanent way we found to cure it was to buy an Conway Cardinal which has a hardtop

You could try ratchet straps around it. We've done this with our camping trailer as we had the same problem with the cover lifting & stretching the cord.

our pathfinder's previous owner used to put bungy cord over the back to stop this problem.  we get it sometimes and not others though not sure what changes.

Yep, two long bungee cords placed across the back end, about a foot up from the back edge. That will do the trick.
