Many oven cleaners contain caustic soda which will react with aluminium and cause corrosion.

If this isn't that great an idea anyone know one that would work? I'm awaiting a new cover after the rip I mentioned in a recent post and fancy trying the idea of removing the stickers with dirt underneath with the hair dryer. Have many folk tried that? Hope to have the unit looking great in time for the summer hols.

Pouring hot water over stickers usually softens them and allows them to be peeled off.

A squirt of WD40 will also remove the stickers.

the no water caravan cleaning stuff may work ok as a cleaner.   We are still after paint to touch up a couple of areas on our dimpled style pathfinder body.  We did buy car touch up paint but it was the wrong white!  Anyone any ideas?

The manufacturer should be able to tell you the colour code to enable you to obtain some from an automotive paint supplier.

I cleaned mine using a well known old fashioned technique known as elbow grease! Seriously, i used water and washing up liquid and a stiff-ish plastic bristled dustpan-and-brush type brush, using a long handled one to reach the middle of the top - hard top obviously. I got my 10 year old to help me, it was a sunny day we had a laugh doing it and the results were pretty respectable. A couple of days later i found the caravan cleaning stuff I had bought (in a spare bedroom, where else would it be?!) i will use that next time to see if it does an even better job.
