I bought a Pennine Aztec 1995 vintage earlier this year via this site, from a guy who was selling his late father's effects. Unfortunately, when I came to erect the awning, which is in perfect condition, I had poles all marked but no means of joining the uprights to the roof and apex etc. I have emailed Pennine Leisure 2/3 times but as yet not had a reply as I wish to find somewhere I can purchase the missing items.

If any member can give me help or advise of where I might buy the joining peices I would be most grateful.

Hi Keith, see you have not had any answers yet but don't worry there will be loads, a lot of people on here go away weekends. Pennine are useless at after sales service and don't seem to want to know you after they have got your money. Nor sure about the Aztec but mine is attached with hooks fitted in ends of thw pols that go through holes in the canvas of the main cabin and hook into holes in the cabins main frame. If you can't get hold of them from your local dealer try making your own by getting five bungs to put in the ends of the five poles, get five substantial round tent pegs and cut a six inch length off each and make a right angle bend in the middle of them. drill a hole slightly smaller than the diameter of the pegs in the centre of the bungs and insert the hooks you made. Also look at Pennine Owners Club

Good luck

Hi Keith

We have a Penine Aztec 1996. Blue has given you a pretty good description of how the awning joins the main frame. Our awning has three roof poles that match up with corresponding holes in the camper frame ,one in the centre at the highest point and two either side on the lower angles.

We bought our outfit from Lowdham Caravans ,who carried plenty of spares. I see that JR Leisure ,Catfoot  lane , Lambley ,Nottm  are now listed as official Penine agents.

We  get general camping spares from SSS in huthwaite, don't know it they would have anything suitable

Hi Alan

Thanks for the info.

Joining to the mainframe is not my problem its joining the front legs to the three roof poles which have a hook on each end. I will go to JR to see if they can help but I know the latter Aztecs (The blue ones) have nylon joining peices and I'm not sure what mine (the last of the orange ones) should have. I'll also investigate SSS in Huthwaite.

Regards

Keith Harris
