Just looking a purchasing a footprint/ groundsheet for our tent, which all tents seem to have available these days but wondering whether it is really worth it as every campsite I have looked at states breathable ground sheets only. None of the footprints that come from the same makers of the tents are breathable. Is it worth getting one??
Hi Katox, you may be better off posting on the Camping under canvas forum, this one is for folding campers and trailer tents so may not get much help from here.
Having said that ... many of us have been through tents ... we still have four!
The main plus of having a ground sheet is that your tent is protected, so that when you pack up, you are not folding up a muddy, wet tent (depending on ground conditions).
Many tenters use a tarp or non breathable ground cover, but I reckon a breathable one has the advantage of never collecting water under your tent (between it and your built in groundsheet).
