Just had a very eventful weekend camping and to crown it all there's something wrong with the gas pressure in our conway crusader...it started off ok but got less and less and faded away on our first day. Also, the water heating appears to be leaking anbd hubby reckons one side is riding lower than the other. It's not very old, around 3-4 yrs and we had it from new. Can anyone help..have tried to get on conway owners club page but it's down. Argghhhh!!

I'm assuming that you have checked that you still have plenty of gas in the actual bottle itself? (Weighed it or shaken it to listen for sloshing sound?)and that all the gas valves are fully open between the bottle and the hob etc?
If so, then this is exactly what happened to our Pathfinder (2005) model. There is a history of gas regulators getting blocked with oily residue from the rubber gas pipe. We ended up fitting a new regulator (Truma have upgraded the design) and a stainless steel gas pipe from Gaslow. The symptoms don't show up when the gas bottle is full, but will when the level drops.
It doesn't have a bend so am thinking it's the old style.. Not sure where the water heater is leaking from, Hubby hasn't had time to look yet. Have to say am not that impressed with conway cursader, have had a lot of little niggley troubles.
If this is the first time you have used the camper this season it is possible that the water heater may have suffered damage from our freezing temperatures if it was not drained down completely at the start of the winter.
It was the first time,. tho normally v careful about draining etc cos it worries me it being outside over winter! Have looked up regulators and apparently it is a common problem..to the extent they even suggest carrying a spare regulator with you! beginning to wish I'd stuck to my tent!

I had the same worry this last winter when I remembered that I had forgotten to fully drain down the water system. Fortunately, we store our camper in the garage so I was able to run a small fan heater underneath it on the very coldest nights when it got down to -14 outside. Come the Spring and everything seemed to be fine so I got away with it, but the bill for a new heater could have been very high.
Chances are that its just a gland or pipe junction thats leaking and if so they are easy to fix.
For your info, the regulator is a major industry problem (quote from Pennine). Pennine replaced ours after working only twice on new unit. Trauma water heater still developed a large crack with no water in, over past winter. May consider this to be a winter problem and take out for storage during winter months.
hope this helps.
I personally was not impressed to find out that the regulator has industry issues. My direct reply to Pennine was, well why are you still using them then? Does not make sense to use a known faulty product.

I presume that Pennine now fit the newer modified version only? (But I bet they still use a rubber hose).
I have just experienced the same problem after using my second hand Pullman for the first time. Cooker worked okay on testing in driveway (for about 10 seconds) then okay on first night (boiling one saucepan) but then on second night did not want to know. Just enough pressure to light then went out.
Anyone know if its possible to service a regulator? Surely cant be that difficult to unblock it can it? I have the suspected offending old style Truma.
our friend tapped it a bit with the hammer and it unblocked...but don't know as would reccomend that! We have just fitted a new one, with clees regulator and stainless steel hose. am fed up about having to do it after not very many trips and the camper is only 4 years old.
In March this year our 18 month old Conway Crusader had the same problem with our regulator. Worked for a quick test but when we got to our campsite no gas! Had the regulator replaced and the engineer said that he sees this on a very regular basis. It was a like for like replacement so I am preparing for it to go again!
