Hi guys,
Some of you will have read my previous posts, and know I am now the proud owner of a Conway Ascot - courtesy of a fellow ukcampsite user. I've been away in it a couple of times now and have some general questions:
1. The sink has a tap and a switch and some cables which are not attached to anything. I did find I used the sink and am interested in getting a pump to enable me to use it with electric hookup. I need some help here as i'm clueless.
2. We have a dog who tends to go wandering whenever she gets the chance. I don't really want to tie her up at night, but we had to on the 1 night we took her. She isn't used to a cage and is quite big so that's not an option. If she sleeps in the trailer she could still get out by the door. Does anyone have any suggestions from their own experience ?
3. I would like to take our youngest 2 kids bikes with us, would it be safe to get some strapping (think Aldi have these on offer next week) and strap them to the top of the trailer. I know you can get frames but these are expensive.
4. I bought a hitchlock from Aldi last week, but it's too small, can anyone recommend one that's on the cheap side, mainly for when it's at home - longer term it will be stored in the garage.
5. I found the beds comfortable, but the OH mentioned a bad back so I was thinking of getting a memory foam topper for the bed. Has anyone got one ?.
6. Where do you store all your clothes ?!. There are 5 of us !
Sorry for the big list of questions, but we are heading away in 2 weeks time for a weeks holiday, I can't wait. So far i'm loving the TT and want to learn from other people's experience and advice.
Thanks muchly in advance.

I can only really offer my experience for questions 2 and 6.
I have two greyhounds with considerable 'prey drive'. I have them on long leads with spikes in the past, now i have two of the delta things but not tried them yet. I got the long leads as 'lunging reins' off ebay. Sadly Lance chewed through those, so now they have chains, again purchased off ebay. These are about 15 foot long, so the dogs can walk about, but always stay within the confines of the pitch. they have never managed to pull the spikes out of the ground. They stay on them at night and don't seem to notice really, I make sure the 'spike' is near to where they mainly are so the chain is lose and you do have to jump up fairly regularly to untangle them, but with brighter dogs than greyhounds this could be less of a problem!
From the question about the clothes, I assume your TT has no 'wardrobe' section in the awning. Camp wardrobes tend to be (to me - it's all relative!) very expensive. Royal do a few, but i think they are in the £40 - £75 price bracket mainly. In my TT dd and i had a large, waterproof bag each and we kept these in the underbed space whilst away. We never managed to leave enough room in the TT to transport clothes on the trailer, they were always in the boot or roof box. You could use plastic boxes or one of those plastic drawer sets, too.

with the beds we found that the memory foam was to thick with our fold over beds,so used a sim under the mattress, and this helped alot aswell as stayed on the bed.
the easy way to get the sink to work is with one of these
http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?rlz=1T4GFRE_enGB322GB323&q=12v+shower&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6144997352274151102&sa=X&ei=TrQWTva9D8yFhQeuz-DMBQ&ved=0CEcQ8wIwAQ#
you can cut of the shower head and connect it to the tap.
you can strap the bikes to top of trailer just use somethig like some old carpet to protect the trailer cover.
as to clothes we tend to have one of those beach type bags each and they stay in there.
if the hitch lock is for home use you may be better with a wheel clamp,as with hitch lock they could just roll the trailer away and then cut the lock off somewhere else.

that was a lovely summer
