As with all insurance, it's a form of gambling. Mine is £60 a year, which I pay monthly so I don't notice the hit at all. This includes £1000 worth of contents, which isn't insured for theft, but is for fire, storm damage, flood etc. The tent is insured for theft, but not the contents.

It it worth paying £60 a year, or £52.50 in your case? As with house insurance, it would be if you ever needed it. It depends on the cost of your unit I guess.

Our 1988 conway cardinal has just been written off by some a..h...s messing in 4x4's in the bad weather in Jan. It was insured (£50 yrly with caravan guard) and I can honestly say they have been brilliant - paying out almost the full amount it was insured for (less excess) which means we have money to replace it if we choose. Without insurance we would have had to go back to one of the tents I have accumulated. So for me the £50 spend per year (owned it for four years) was worth it. it also gave us piece of mind re theft not just of the camper but also the contents especilly when we were on site.
