Hope someone can help. Bought what I'd hoped was a replacement for the water pump of our 2004 countryman.  Old one was a truma crystal thames - new one says its a replacement for truma crystal sockets.  I just noticed the new one is a 12V pump but the old one doesn't actually say what it is.  We have run the old one before on Mains so does this mean that the original was a 24V voltage pump, does the unit transorm down to 12V or does it need to run off a battery?  Many thanks.

Never seen anything other than a 12v pump,but stand to be corrected.

it will definetly be 12volt ,and have to be run off a battery .and you must have had a 12v leisure battery in your unit somewhere

Ah,no,not really,there are many campers and 'vans without batteries,the 12v runs direct off  a transformer. A quality power supply is recommended if this is the case,not any old charger.

Thanks for the replies.  We first used the Countryman with EHU and the pump ran fine.  There was no battery in the unit anywhere at the time.  Then for some reason the pump packed up - or maybe it didn't work when we ran the unit off a Leisure battery?  Bought was was sold to me as a replacement pump for the Crystal Thames as thought the pump was at fault but was concerned as it said 12V and we'd only run the original on EHU.  So if as you say the original was also 12V then there must be a transformer somewhere built in?  Can anyone with a Countryman 2004 clarify?

yes there will be a 12volt transformer somewhere in the camper,this will power the 12v sockets,pump and also the light when running of EHU,have you got a side cupboard to the left of the sink ?,we have a pennine fiesta which is same layout as the countryman and that has a battery charger/transformer in the side cupboard.
