It is the same as if you turn the gas cooker on in winter to get warm. It wards you not to. Why Oh! why! do people always think either It will not happen to me or think they know better.Either burnt beyond recogntion or scarred for life. That is of course they do not kill or maim others in the the same unit or near enough to get caught by the gas blast. They do not have any right to hurt others without any thought.

This maybe will give those that talk about wanting to use more space by adding more to their unit so it gets closer to others whilst not wanting to pay for a bigger pitch something to think about.

Safety rules are for all not just some. So keep your distance away from others not get closer to them because you want to put more up adding so much your home at home is empty.

A gas bottle blew years ago at Billing Aquadrome a grandfather dies. A fridge was put close to the side of the awning, it caused a fire and everyone got there fast to drag the awning away and saved the main unit. The risked their lives  for those that were told but say "It will not happen to me" I" know better".Your a long time dead, if you really want to go, do not take anyone with you in your "I know bette than those who make safety rules do".

It makes me so mad as this attitude is growing. Please do not be stupid to think it will not happen it could & will do so. Remember the member who's fire extinquisher was out of date & if he had not got another in his car his unti would og gone along with his family. He knew better & he shook afterwards for what could of happened. I will not forget his advice as you can see.

Because our daily experiences of using gas appliances lead us to believe they are entirely safe to use.

Most of us do not understand nor recognise the multitude of safety features built into a domestic gas cooker and the reliance on the environment they're used in.

Why are cookers safe in a house? Well, because houses are designed to provide enough air flow. (And elements of the design are inspected by buildings control during construction.

But we don't see those - all we know is that gas is "safe".

And that's the knowledge we take with us when we seal ourselves in plastic bags in the middle of a field.

"Gas is safe." Except it isn't. What the chemistry teachers told us at school was true all along.

Totally agree with Paul,

Being a qualified gas safe engineer, cookers are only safe in domestic houses if there is an openable window in the kitchen, if not a 5 inch vent needs to be fitted. When using these appliances in any kind of camping, PLEASE,PLEASE make sure you have adequate ventilation at all times! If in any doubt that the cooker etc is not working correctly DON,T USE IT until it is properly quecked out by a trained professional. Also I would recommend a carbon monoxide alarm is fitted in all campers. TT, caravans etc. Sorry if I'm teaching people to 'suck eggs' but carbon monoxide is not called the silent killer for no reason!

Stay safe & enjoy!

So how is best to heat a TT, cos I'll put my hand up n say I've used the rings thinking that cookers didn't give off CM! I feel a tool now  I'd only have gas to do it with as well?  What about those gas heaters you can buy then? A friend has one that runs off his bottle?!?
