Hi,
I just wondered if anyone knew of any small 2/3 berth tents that are tall enough for someone 5ft4 to comfortably stand up in? I spend up to 30 nights a year in a tent and can't cope with the constant bending. I have access to a number of ancient frame tents, but they're just too big/heavy to keep lugging around and I really do need something small enough to easily fit in my car.
I thought I'd found the perfect tent in the Quechua Base Seconds, but for some unknown reason, they've discontinued it. I really don't want to have to buy a 5 berth tent just for m.
You can get the Quechua on ebay still. You can get an inner bedroom liner thing to go inside it on ebay too. We sometimes use ours if we dont put up the awning.
I have a feeling the Vango Beta 450 is just tall enough for me (I'm 5'4") to stand up under the middle pole. Not sure about the 350 though. There's a similar shaped Gelert in the B&Q sale currently too, for £30.
I have done sopme solo tenting in a gelert cadiz 6 (6 person) plenty of room for bag and other bits with a very decent size "living" space.
It's basic two pole dome tent that sleeps 4 then has a 2 bed pod you can put up on the sloping side of things. Full length ground sheet keeps things nice and dry as long as your not in a puddle zone.
Its quick and easy to put up single handed as well as long as its not blowing an absolute gale. Have used it in some very wet and windy weather without any problems and was very glad of the living space in that weather as well! A chair, a brew and a good book while i wonder when the rain was goign to stop
Pack size is roughly 24"x10"x10" very fit-in-the-bootable, infact my camp bed and sleeping bag take up more room.
Might be a little bigegr than you were looking, for but definalty worth a look.
ROB :)

(")_(") THE BUNNIES ARE COMING!!!!!
Thanks for the responses everyone, particularly as I posted in the wrong section Defintely some ones to look at there.
I drive a smart car, which I can get some hefty camping equipment in, but at this time of year I prefer to leave tent/sleepingbag/airbed etc in the car permanently!
Ooh I have to suggest the Vango Kairos 300, though they are kind of hard to find (I got mine for £80 from Lockwoods in Leamington Spa). It is simplicity itself to put up, with just one pole (and a small flexible pole attached to that) and I find it absolutely perfect for one person, with a small bedroom and a good living space which is more than high enough to stand up in. The pack size is very manageable, and I am thrilled as I managed to fold up two today and fit them both back into their bags!
