I have never used bungees tbh. I know they're common on storm straps of course but I don't see the need for them on an everyday basis. I just peg my trailer tent down well and I've honestly never had a problem, even in some fearsome winds.
I would say though that if the wind is that strong you need to take any open fronted canopy down as soon as possible. The danger is that the wind gets in under the front, lifts it up, rips the pegs out and flips the canvas and poles back over the main unit causing damage. If it's pegged down really well the guyline attachment points on the canvas may rip out instead, given that they're the next weakest link. Which is why pegging down well is essential of course but it's not the answer to every problem. I'd rather lose a peg than my canopy get torn!
But don't worry too much about all of this...folding campers are sturdy beasts and can withstand a lot of bad weather due to sheer weight but a sun canopy out the front is vunerable. If you pitch the FC in as much shelter as you can and take the open canopy off in high winds then you'll be fine, I'm sure.
