Hello All

My 2000 Pathfinder 600TC door seems to either be shrinking or the surround is getting larger. Steady. No laughing. There is a gap of half an inch at the top of the latch side and it tapers to the bottom of the latch side. This implies that I need to lose weight.

I have inspected the chassis strengtheners and they seem to be very straight/without distortion.

When I jack the near side front corner with a hydraulic car jack, the gap closes slightly.

The weakness in the trailor is the door gap and this will always allow distortion and flexing.

Has this hapenned to anyone else?  Any ideas folk. Every little helps.

Thanks in advance.........

I am not sure whether this is the same but I have heard a problem whereby a door will not close, and that has been because somebody has temporarily twisted the chassis when pitching (ie the steadies not being put up evenly causing the twist if that makes sense).  However this was just temporary and when pitched "straight" the door was fine again.  Is the door always like it or just the last time you used the camper?

Hey Up burneth.

I bought the trailor in April and unfortunatley didn't know enough about the 600TC to give it as rigorous a going over as a trained eye may have done.

We've used it 4 times now and that includes a trip to mid France (15 days). It works fine, everything that is needed is there, I just happened to notice the difference in gaps at each side of the door was unequal by about half an inch.

I sorted it out this afternoon by stripping the door frame and making minor adjustments and all seems to be OK now.

I'm away again at the beginning of next month, which will give me a better idea as to the situation.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your info and time.

Kindest regards

Dave

Not sure if its the same issue as yours but I found people were leaning on the door as they left the camper and as a result the door was bending the hinges. Since people now no longer lean on the door I've not had a problem with the door closing etc.
