Have only been away the once with the FC but due to go away for September weekend.....Accompanied by friends and will be erecting the awning for the first time!!!!!! On the last site we visited the Hook up point had a single Blue 230v socket, i have a standard lead and on that occassion all was good. I was wondering about needing extra electrics in the awning and have saw various leads with trip switches etc built in, They have a blue plug at one end. Do some sites have more than one plug for connecting to or am i missing something?
Thanks for any help!
Only one power lead is required(the one with the blue end) which connects to socket on the pitch. The awning is normally powered by the socket/s in the camper, which should be protected by your internal fuseboard.
The leads with 3 sockets and trip switches on one end are for use in tents. The end plugs into the campsite supply in the same way you plugged yours in except whilst you have on board electrics tents don't, so they have to use the portable one. Hope that makes sense.
If you want extra electrics in your awning I would expect you need to run an extension lead from an existing socket inside your unit (or fit an external socket) as you only pay for the use of one hook up per pitch.
Once you have hooked up your unit, you can run a extension lead from a socket in your Crusader into your awning just make sure your plug connection is off the ground.

Make sure the socket outside to the awning (if you fit one) is an outdoor type, then if you choose not to use your awning (on an overnighter or short stay) it's safe. A normal domestic socket wouldn't be waterproof.
We attach a four/six-gang to the inside normal "household" socket, of course being careful what we use together. We prefer the gangs with individual switches that helps us when we plug in the chargers, etc.
just fit the same outlet thats on the hook up posts to your on board electrics and you can simmply plug the extension into that ,the good thing is you retain the blue plug so you can use it by itself if you want to
