The floor near to the door of my Dandy Delta has become spongy and slightly saggy. Is there a quick fix out there or am I looking at replacing the whole floor. If the latter, is this a big job. I have had a good look underneath and the floor is made of the same wood used to cover windows that are being boarded up. It looks to be cracking slightly and I want to stop it before it gets any worse.
The wood is called Stirling Board. Last year I insulated the floor of our Dandy. bought 40mm Kingspan (high density polystyrene, lined with foil on either side). I cut it to fit between the chassis frame and glued it into place with contact adhesive on the upper foil side before going around the edge with a suitable quality silicone mastic. This has the benefit of keeping out moisture as well as saving approx 500Kw of heat.
I suggest you get a sheet of moisture resistant chip board, cut to shape and glue it in place with a good dollop of water resistant PVA glue before holding in place with a car jack. Once set put in some screws around the edge and middle taking care that they are not too long.

Did the same fix on a caravan years ago,the only difference i used marine ply,if you decide to go further you could ask on here http://www.dandycampers.org/
mike
------------- they said it couldnt be done so i left it and went camping
a bad days camping is better than a good day at work
we restored our camper floor with a de lamination kit ,pretty much all it was was a 2 part glue and wooden plugs ,involved a lot of drilling but the result was fine and the problem disappeared.
generally the problem is lack of sufficient support under the floor so it can move causing the floor to delaminate

Delamination kits work on plywood floors but not on stirling board. I agree that marine ply is perhaps a better choice of repair material.
Hi Y'all
Thanks very much for all the responses to my original post. I have to admit that I bottled repairing it and decided to take the Delta to Ian at Riva Dandy in Wigan. It was the best decision I have made in some time. Ian was marvellous, he went beyond the call of duty in restoring our Delta back to pristine condition for a very reasonable price. he even painted the wheels!!.
