Well, I was having a little look on ebay last night and noticed a Conway Colt quite close to us for just over £125 finishing an hour later. Says the canvas is in excellent condition, but there are no mattresses. Wasn't much more detail but the pics look good and after a bit of dithering we put a bid on it and won...

We collect on Friday but we've never had a trailer tent or even a canvas tent, so no idea what we should be expecting or looking/checking for?

Also need advice about winter storage, we have space in front garden which is where we'd prefer to keep it, we also have access to a garage, but it is not heated and has rising damp. Is it possible to remove canvas so that can be stored indoors?

Thanks in advance

Have a look at the canvas for signs of mildew, black spots, and any rips. As for the trailer make sure wheels/tyres are in good condition, if it is braked are the brakes in working order, are the towing electrics working, is the cover in good condition.

As for storing you can store outside, many do, possibly get another tarp to cover the complete trailer.  Yes you can take the canvas off to store inside.

As for having no mattresses, you could always use air beds instead, or if you contact Tent valeting services at Bolton they may have mattresses that fit, although the cost will be more than you paid for the trailer tent!! I have had a look at completed listings, and although it looks like an older model the canvas looks ok, but you still need to see it first.

Check the inner tents for mould as well, they can be expensive to replace.
