Hi everyone,

Looking at buying a countryman or similar my question is do I really need a motor mover, both my wife and I are both disabled to a degree (bad knees & muscle weakness),it would probably only be used for manouvering on campsites ,putting away at home no problem( flat drive and into garage).I'm a bit confused with some of the replys I have read on here regarding fitting to a rear entry door can one be fitted or not?all replies will be much appreciated.

I would say it depends on the type of sites you are going to be using. If it's more of a caravan site type with reasonable roads and flattish pitches then you won't need one as you'll be able to drive it pretty much to where you want and they are easy enough to move on the flat. If you are going to wilder sites or using rally fields then you may find a motor mover is very useful.

Rhino seem to be very well regarded on here and are a British company, but I think it would be best to check with them as to whether they can be fitted to the rear entry models.

We have a powrtouch fitted. Also well regarded but there are several good makes. We have never got into a situation when a mover was essential but many where it was convenient and easier. It also saves a lot of wear & tear on the clutch.

I fitted a Rhino mover to our 2001 Countryman. It was a bit of an effort and needed special brackets that were supplied FOC by Rhino once we had decided what was required. Cannot speak to highly of the response we had from the company. I just wish I had spent the extra £100 to get it fitted by them as although it wasnt difficult to fit the thing lying under a folding camper isnt my idea of fun and Im sure they would not have taken as long as I did to fit the mover.

Very pleased to have it fitted though as we have a steep drive and can just drive it down on the motordrive and park it in the garage with no effort required.

THIS is the company that came to us and fitted our Enduro2 motor mover.

Having had a heart attack and had two replacement knees fitted, we weren't taking any chances trying to move our Pathfinder either at the garage or on a site.

A word of warning though! Once you have had a motor mover, you will never own another unit that doesn't have one!!!
For those that have never had one, they are a luxury. For those that have had one, they are a necessity!!!

Hi,

Rhyno fitted it. If your unit has a backdoor entry you must make that clear & they have to also to the man that comes out to you as he needs a better drill to get through the tough chassis so he had to come twice to us. If your close up country to Nuneaton then it will not take them long to get to you. They have various men who come to the customer. As long as your battery is a good one, charged up it will go.

02476387080.telephone. I had to mention when I said I had  pennine Fiesta and she said it has a back door we cannot do them. Well I said your have already done two as that is how I got the info, the last one in Norwich. It just needs plates put on the chassis to take it. After that she put me through to the one that took the particulars. But I once again told him first as soon as I mentioned "I would like the Rhyno motor mover and I have a ....ditto.That I know YOU have to use plates as you did and I mention the mans name. So now it could be the same to you and you mention my name and it was doen on West Runton CC&club site. But it could be better for you at home as he was unsure whether the electics on site could or would take the power drill. But it was 16amp so it did. But it must be easier at home as its better electrics. Besides not all sites maybe would not allow it. We had told them beforehand. But we when we ordered this we were about to go on  holiday hence doing it on site.
