Hi All

Just joined and new to folding campers so you may have heared this a thousand times.
We have recently got a bargain 1994 Conway Cruiser which needs a little renovating.
My main concern is the electrics for mains and 12v. There is an RDC unit for the mains hookup and a dodgy botchup of wires for the 12v system. Needless to say all the wireing will be checked and the 12v system re-wired.
My problem is there was nothing to conect the 12v system too so I went to the local caravan brakers and got a Zig type Controle Panel (another bargain at £35)
It came out of an ABI Caravan and it is an ED Transformers LTD Unit. I have contacted them but they are unable to help.
30

I now need a Wireing Diagrm for this unit to get the system working. Or, if anyone can just explain which wires go where it would be a big help for me. (eg. socket outlets to post 3 and 5. lighting to posts 2 and 4 etc)

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Dave

Would the local caravan breakers where you got it from not be able to help?

Just a thought.

Hi Griff

I did ask him but he was unsure about it as he is only familier with Zig units, just gave rough idea.
I have just been having a play with it, hooked up my 12v bat and tested the curcuits.
I think I might have solved the puzzle as I have got a test lamp working on all the indevidual connections. Marked them up for what I want so now I will be making up a test loom with a couple of 12v sockets and lights to see if all works as it should.

Thanks for the help, If all goes well I will post the wireing diagram for others to copy

Thanks for all your help guys, much apreciated.
I have a CD with loads of information about conway Folding Campers. It has all models from late 80's to present day and links to more info on the internet.

My problem was, the model I have, Conway Cruiser 1994 , did not have the 12v controle panel (Zig type or any other) so I have bought one to include as part of the renovation. Coming out of an ABI Caravan, ED Transformers LTD make, I can not find any reference to it anywhere including contacting ED Transformers.
I have, however, solved the puzzle of what wires go where on the control panel so now it's just a matter of replacing the old wireing and conecting to the box.

I can always go to confused.com if it all goe's pear shaped

Thanks again guys, I'm sure I will be picking brains for other ifo before the old conny is ready for the road.

One thing to be aware of is if you rewire the 12v system and it comes anywhere in proximity to the 240v wiring the 12v wire should have the same insulation as the 240v system.

Good point. The old 12v wire looks to be the same as the 240v so I was going to replace like for like. What you say though is well worth noting and I will be aware of it.

Dont think confused.com will be needed with this much help
