We are thinking of joining. What sort of prices do they offer for their rallies? Is it good value for money?

DH and I tend to be quite shy and it would be nice to make some camping friends.

Just bought a 2000 Conway Crusader in very good condition, up from our 1994 Cruiser. Having an awning made for it as it was sold with an awning but upon a closer inspection it was actually a sun canopy enclosed with now windows on the ends and only one small door on the front, very small and wouldn't work for a family. We actually went to buy a camper advertised as a Pennine Pathfinder only to find a Crusader. We are happy with it, its in very good condition but had to negotiate price to complete deal. We had gone and bought a Pathfinder annexe the day before pick up too so now have to wait to see if it will fit our new awning.

So excited to go camping in a bigger camper with 4 children and a husband!

Congrats on your new FC. We have a 99 Pathfinder so very similar I would think although only 2 children!! Would think the Pathfinder annex should fit as all very similar if not same sizes?

The onboard facilities are very useful with children and the extra length does make it feel spacious especially with an awning up compared to a Cruiser

We were members of Conway Owners Club for a year and went on two weekend rallies. They were both on commercial sites but at half the cost. There was a get together on the first night where everybody took their chairs and drinks and had a really good chat - it doesn't matter if you don't know any one, you soon will!!! During the next day sometimes there are organised activities but you can just sit back and relax and watch the kids having fun. In the evening again there is usually a gathering for whatever the stewards have organised. Then on Sunday morning its tea at the stewards TT/FC or caravan before packing up. Its really good fun but you'll end up exhausted!

Also, you'll get a magazine with news etc.

Glad we arent the only shy peeps

how old are your children? mine are 17, 6, 3, and 3 months

homebird, that sounds like a great deal. we are looking at one of the rallies being held at a CCC site, do you need a CCC membership if you go to those type of sites for the rallies?

Yes, you need to belong to the club to join in a rally. We were shy when we first started but its surprising how quickly you get into it, even my husband jumps out of the car to book us in when we arrive & shakes hands all round & chats about the journey etc. We went on 6 rallies & one THS with C&CC last year and plan to do lots more.

Homebird, I think I worded my question wron.

We are going to join to enjoy some of the rallies but one we are looking at is a CCC site. looking at that campsite's website, it shows a member price and extra for non members. do we need to get membership to CCC in addition to Conway club to get the rates or will we have to pay the non member extra fee at this CCC site? Or do you get the CCC membership rate if you are with the Conway rally?

Sorry, I did wonder afterwards whether I'd misunderstood. I expect the Conway Club will have negotiated a rally fee which will include the C&CC non members fee so you won't have to pay extra or join the C&CC. So you only need to join the Conway Owners Club.

Thats what I was thinking.

I've looked at the gallery of previous rallies and it looked like fun!
