HI All,
We have been camping for a while and have started to think about getting a folding camper. We want a toilet in it, so i guess we need the Crusader, Pathfinder or the Travango (757TC?) as its a new thing for us, we wanted a second hand one (make sure we like it!) - but have no idea where to start looking! We have been members on here for a while so i thought id start here!. Can anyone recommend a starting place? We are on the Staffordshire/SOuth Cheshire border - I called a couple of places Camperland (Manc) and Caseys in Chester - but neither have anything at the moment. We will keep trying though. I am a bit sceptical about Ebay really, though we arent in a massive rush, i have a ferry booked for the summer haha !
Someone posted a recent thread on here from the Staffordshire area stating that they had a trailer tent for sale but I don't know if it what you are looking for.
Try ebay we have just got a 2010 pathfinder a month ago it was from a caravan dealership thay had taken it in part exchange for a caravan and got a good deal with stuff thrown in and 12 months warranty. Cant wait for easter to try it. Good look in your search.
Pennine Sovereigns also have an onboard loo but they don't come up for sale often.
Don't discount the Pennine Pullmans or Conway Cruisers - plenty of room in the awning for a porta potty (especially if you get an awning extension) and you will probably save yourself a couple of grand.
In my opinion ebay is the best place to get a well priced folding camper but do your research to find out what price you should be paying (check completed listings).
The main question to ask is does it have any mould on the canvas. It's not the end of the world if it does (it can be treated but might look a bit unsightly) but it's a good bargaining tool if it's afflicted - the roof of our old one had mould marks on the roof but we treated it with Milton and it was covered by the roof liner so never bothered us.
Keep an eye on here also the Pennine owners club occassionally have them for sale. Free ads on here too.
we just bought a 2000 crusader on Sat, got a great price but needs awning. they are quite rare so have to have one made, cost £1000 so make sure you go over eveything and negotiate price for missing things and repairs needed. What we got knocked off was enough to cover our awning. Spares are easily found and TVS can make lots of things for them if needed
