You need exactly the same stuff as before digital. You will need either an aerial or a satellite system and, unless it's a 12V TV, an EHU.

If you are on mains any little tv will do, a built in freeview is good because it saves on taking an extra box with you,as for Ariel any household exterior digital Ariel should be ok although one for week signal areas would be best,we dont bother with the tv now just use the dongle on a laptop if we want to watch any thing, most of the time the signal is ok on our boosted one for all interior Ariel depends on how certain you want to be of getting a signal.

I have a 15.6ins Technika tv with built-in Freeview, purchased from Tesco nearly three years ago. I use it here at home in the bedroom but always take it with me when camping. Obviously I always have ehu, but as far as the aerial goes I have a proper one on a telescopic pole which I use if I'm away for several nights but for just one or two nights I have a small cheap indoor aerial - £7.99 from Argos when I got it - and it works perfectly.

As the post above says, you will need to retune every time you go to a different area but other than that you shouldn't have any problems. And I can vow for the robustness of Tesco tvs, mine fell 4ft from the top of my larder unit onto hard ground and still works perfectly!

You sometimes find, well on Caravan Club sites, that the EHU will have a tv socket in it so you just need a cable to run from the mushroom (EHU) to tv.

Hi,

A bit late but I thought I would also put a reply just in case others search this topic.

I bought the TV dongle from Amazon and a aerial.  Works great and you can pick up all free veiw and radio channels. Picture was perfect and very good quality as it was the laptop screen

With the laptop you can also then play DVDs.

For us it worked well as it saves space in taking extra kit, and from a cost point of veiw was better as we already had the laptop.
