You will be setting it up to replace again if you use mdf,use marine,or at least exterior ply.

Failing that,rigid foamed plastic panels are available,not cheap,but light and strong

its got to be ply wood i made one for my pullman out of 18 mm it took some work to get the exterior off but it worked perfectly for two years i bought some fablon sticky back plastic for the inside put three or four pieces on to bulk out to 20 mm
