Hey People!

Been a while since posting last and am now about to swap the trusty old conway classic in for a newer, and hopefully smaller model!

Any one got any opinions of the comanche montana? Dont know whether to call it a folding camper or trailer tent really!

Barrons are selling them and its a long drive from suffolk to copull to see them, so if anyones got any feedback or owns one, would love to know.

Thanks all!

Hi Monza, not an owner so can't claim any real experience of them, but Barrons had one on display at GMEX this weekend. I would say they are a trailer tent really in that they are just a bedroom and sitting area, however they are completely raised off the ground, (except the wheels/steadies-just getting that in before someone else does), & do not need pegging (as far as I know) so are a folding camper !!!???According to the leaflet I picked up the bedrooms are only suitable for 2 adults & 2 children I would imagine the living space might be a bit cramped if you put have a table & chairs set up in it but they do an awning for it so more space can be had. Apart from all that if the set up suits you they do look well made & I like the idea of the solid lid (that turns into the living area floor) for sealed up security when folded. Other than that, as I say I have never lived with one, but hope this is a bit of help for you to decide about having a look

Yours Bernard (still disguised as June)

Thanks Julie n Mo!

Just viwed the comanche and it looks good! Very quick and lots of room!

Think the raclet might be too small, plus for £3500 with a full awning, a new comanche looks a good price.

Thanks all. if i buy i'll post a review.

Dan

Hi

We have a Comanche Montana and have enjoyed it a lot. It's meant to sleep four but as our kids are grown, we've taken out the fabric bed divider and made one big, spacious bed. The mattress is very firm (hard). We plan to add a layer of memory foam to make it more comfy.

The living area is very small -- okay for an overnight trip but for longer trips we usually set up the awning, which doubles the enclosed area and makes a nice sized room for cooking/dining/lounging.

Set-up of the camper itself is very quick and easy, though the awning took us some time until we got the hang of it. Overall the camper is well designed and stylish. It's light and easy to tow. You can store a fair amount of gear inside it and lash more onto the top if you need to.

There are quite a lot of threads on this site on Comanche Montanas.   Do a search and you will find almost all aspects have been discussed.   Very pleased with mine.
