We have a canvas TT and panic everytime we go camping in case it rains as we do not have anywhere to open out the TT to let it dry if it gets wet.
We were wondering if anyone knows of a cover we can buy to go over the TT when it rains rather than just throwing over a tarpaulin and hoping it doesnt blow away!
presuming you have it on your drive, then providing you can get to some sort of large green area/parkland with off road access then poss you could just tow it there when the rain aint falling and open up , canvas dries pretty quick in windy dry conditions,or friends who may have an area you could use for an hour or two while it dries

without trying to sound sarcastic!! but the idea of having something to cover your TT seems odd[but i realise what you mean by having to pack up wet], but canvas is the cover and trying to cover it to avoid it getting wet sort of defeats the idea of it being their really,, other than some sort of lightweight cover which you would have to either tie on or get some sort of pegging goin on would get you pretty stressed worrying wether it was going to rain overnight or if you went off for the day and you had not covered up,, best is to carry on how you are and let the canvas do its job

There must be a Dandy Owners meet on, normally by now we should have at least five smug responses from the PVC brigade. Why,if you don't mind me asking, can you not remove the canvas?
A cover for a trailer tent - do you mean a tent? It would have to be like a Circus tent or what about one of those big party gazebos. I don't mean to be flippant but do you think you might be better off with a caravan as it's obviously spoiling your holidays.
Btw you can get the canvas off.....they all come off.
I think you need to be more optimistic and assume that you won't get rained on. That way you can enjoy your holiday without worrying. If you do have to pack up wet then deal with it when it happens.
Was a simple question to try and make our lives a bit easier....Our TT is only a 2 birth raclet solena so really wouldnt need anything the size of a circus tent but hey glad you found the idea funny.
Thanks for the info about the canvas coming off all TT's tho. Weve not had it long and didnt realise that was the case
Raclet Solena is only a small TT so you will be able to get it dry in the house if you have nowhere to open it up. I have seen pics on here of peeps with tents over their bannisters, dining room tables, hung from hooks in the loft.
Have a good look next time you open it to see how it attatches - you may need to undo a few screws but its better than it spoiling your hols.
I have seen tt's with a tarp cover, mainly in hot countries, you would need extra rings or klingons to peg it down, and it would be noisy in the wind, and may cause condensation unless you can keep it off the canvas with king poles, but it is do-able.
Still funny though.. Also, you don't have to get the canvas dry straight away,it can take ages sometimes,as long as it's aired daily until you can dry it properly.
