I've just bought my first FC.... I'm doing a bit of shopping round for insurance. Has anyone got any reccomendations?
I'm heading towards caravan guard at the moment - £60.
If you look just below your post you will see an advert for the same insurance company that StixJimbo has mentioned where you get a discount for being a UKcampsite member.
Also check out exactly what is covered...really cheap insurance quotes are usually because something is wrong or your not as covered as you thought you were.
We also use caravan guard, and our cover seems really comprehensive. When it's up for renewal in August I'll check out other options too. Good luck, and hope whatever u decide u never need it!

I use THESE people, they are fairly cheap and a well known company.
That's who we insure with. Make sure you have insured yourself for enough. Ours is new for old so have to insure for new price, plus don't forget awning, side skirts other equipment it soon adds up.

Times may well have changed and I could be wrong but has anyone made a claim on a policy with this insurer? It's just that at the bottom of the ad it states that the policies are through LLoyds. Years ago if you had an at LLoyds car policy all you ever wanted on that sort of policy was "Act Only" if you had T.P.F.T or comprehensive it was murder to get Lloyds policys to pay up.
We have purchased a new TT and did the quotes, but we contacted our householders policy insurers to add this on to the existing policy at a very reasonable amount. We told them what specialist insurance were offering in the way of cover and they matched them.
I paid £1000 for my 1999 Fiesta (quite a good price), I told the insurers this and insured it for this. Is this correct? or do I need to go for higher? After all they will only pay book value if something went wrong.
I also only put £100 of other items on it to cover some clothes etc.
I have used the company who advertise on this forum, www.insurancefortrailertents.co.uk they do tt and fc and gave me a discount for being a uk campsite member. They were very helpful and really good price.
I've just insured my trailer tent with the people who advertise on this website, it cost £76. It's new for old and very comprehensive, covering all camping equipment and personal items ie clothes, tv's etc. The service was very good. It's useful to have the serial number of your unit, apparently this helps to speed things up if you need to make a claim.
can you tell me is it compulsary to insure a folding camper, we got ours last year used it twice and never thought about insurance as were new to campers thanks
