I know my title sounds a bit daft but I am glad in a a way.
We are away for the first time at the moment in our camper and it's pouring down.
I have been worried about how water proof the cabin and awning is having only testing the cabin with hose on the drive and not the awning.
Before I went to bed I covered the telly and electrics with bags just in case.
I woke this morning and everywhere was bone dry except for a small part of awning the size of 50p piece where I think some bird mess had landed.

But all in all I feel a lot happier now.

It rained on us last weekend on the first outing of our new tt, and I was pleased for the same reason!

Wish it had stopped before we had to pack up though...I could have done without finding out how that works!

Enjoy listening to the rain on your waterproof tent, and here's hoping you get to pack up dry!

Having, over the years, had tents and then trailer tents, we then moved onto campervans and caravans.

In 2010 we bought a folding camper and the first time it rained during the night, we suddenly realised what we had been missing in all those intervening tin roof days and nights. The beautiful sound of rain on a canvas roof.

Its just one of "those" sounds Lobey. I would also class sound of the sea, babbling brook or stream, and the sounds of children laughing in teh distance all in same category - they just make you smile and think all is well with the world!

Maybe its just me...........

We did 4 weeks touring Northern Ireland and Donegal last summer and it rained every single day for the entire month.

Indeed the first day it did not rain was on the boat sailing back to Scotland.

Still, it was a brill holiday!

That's why we go to the continent for six/seven weeks in July/August ... so as to get some summer!!
We usually get a good spell in May, then again in September ...
In between is pot luck! 1983 was a good summer!!
Mind you ... rain on the canvas can sound like distant lambeg drums!!
