Hi all, newbie here, sorry for the dumb questions - new to the camping lifestyle also, so mistakes WILL be made!  Fantasic site by the way, learnt lots already!

Will be collecting a Rapido Exportmatic in a couple of weeks  and just preparing for that.  There is such a huge variety of security stuff that I'm a bit confused - would welcome advise on what hitch locks and wheel clamps people have.  I'm assuming the Rapido will have a standard size of tyre? But I don't know what it is, likewise with the hitch bit.  Are they universal?

Daft Q1. - with a security alarm thingy, would I need one for the inside when we're out? What other things do I need to keep it safe?

Daft Q2 - I'm assuming it shouldn't be put down wet, but what do I do if it's raining when we need to leave? Put it down but put it up when we get home and dry it?

Daft Q3 - will the Exportmatic fit in a garage, or not?

Daft Q4 - if I needed new tyres would current new styles be ok?

Really looking forward to many happy trips exploring the UK   & all hints and tips welcome

I've never needed an alarm for mine when I've been out & you can fold them down when wet although it is always best to get it unfolded again as soon as you get home to dry out.

The Exportmatic will easily fit inside a garage so you've know worries there either.

I brought some 8ply tyres for mine & I've never had a problem with it since.

As most Exportmatice are fitted with 10" wheels, wheel clamps can be tricky to fit as there isn't much room although I did have a halfords one that did fit just!!!!

Few more questions

What are necessities = when I collected the Rapido the guy whipped out a grease gun and greased the tow bar - so do I need:

A grease gun

A tyre pressure gauge, for the trailer, to check before we go on our travels

A tyre inflator, in case the trailer tyres need inflating when I'm in the middle of nowhere

What do you think? And what else is a necessity? Thank you

u certainly need a tyre pressure guage and a pump,or do what i have done and get some puncture sealant that you put in the tube.this stops all but the biggest punctures.generally available from motorcycle shops and goes by various names-slime being just one of them!ensure you get the one for tubed tyres as there is another especially for tubeless tyres.a grease gun is useful as there are grease nipples on the axle tube as weell as the drawbar
