hi have recently bought a raclet marathon 2002 but on inspection today, it appears the awning have taken a battering, a number of the joints are out of shape and have slpits in the metal, so if i try to sraighten them they will break, can anyone tell me if they can be repaired, replaced or if any other awning will fit. hope this makes sense, we are new to this?

If it is just the awning poles that are battered and the canvas is in reasonable condition, then it's worth trying a repair. The best thing you can do is try and put the trailer tent up , very carefully, then take photographs of all the poles and joints that need replacing.

Once you have identified the different pole types and joints that you need, you can start searcing for replacements.

Your local caravan dealer might be able to source some for you - our local one (Harringtons- sadly no longer) used to have boxes full of different types to browse through

You could advertise for a set of poles, quite often when the canvas gets damaged, people leave the poles in the back of the garage just in case they ever come in handy some day.

Try this seller on ebay - if you send the photos to them they may be able to find you a replacement or an alternative.

You could try and get them welded if they are steel - not sure if you can do that with aluminium.

Good luck and keep us posted

Bril answer and info for where to get poles as it is the one thing that if the winds turn to gales & where to get poles from as some of the makers are such a price they want.

 Thank you Angela
