Hi all
thought I'd share our weekend of firsts with you all whilst sat here at teversall with a coffee on the first dry day and sunny too

Well it's the first time the wife and I have been camping together picked a great weekend for that as she's more into home comforts lol but she has enjoyed it apart from being wet lol
Its the first time I've used this trailer tent although I've had it for 3 years and have to say I'm very impressed with it to say it 20 years old been stored for 3 years in the garden due to not having a tow bar etc for the main it's been water tight only were things have touched the sides has it let in water and then only on the side the rains been driving against all weekend so I think I can chalk that up as a success ,also the first time pitching on a hard standing anybody got any advice as it was a bit leaky under the skirts was probably due to the way it was thrown up in the rain on Saturday and then not havin a not raining day since to adjust it ?
Oh well time for breakfast then off to try one of the cycle trails before heading home ooh another first managing to get out on the bikes in the dry lol

Did you pull all the cords underneath the beds boards into their place. As once the skirts are zipped on it is waterproof unless not done up right.

On saying that, you said it was driving rain, maybe it was because of that is has got through the  zips. Maybe a little candle wax along the zip could make it waterproof we have done that to a tent before now. Never had to with the FC but then we had a little pool of water on Bobs side and he reckons that he had not straighten the corner and so it was wrinkled a bit, so not put up properly. Dried it, re-arranged it, no problem after. As the canvas was straighten out now. not folded over slightly

On getting home and taking stock of the weekend we think that the bedroom part was not put up properly as the awning had been left attached so we have removed the awning for next time to see if that makes any difference plus think the rain was probably a little excessive this weekend lol

I guess with such heavy rain we can expect something but of it was very bad leak you would surely of seen more water inside.

We are off next Sunday 6th so hope we can alt least get it up, will not put the awning up if windy and separate ours up. But we do not put the big one up as it is not needed and too big for us to do it. So the smaller awning we bought is the handy one. But not in wind, no point. In gale no point in even starting out until it eases so I hope it is easing up.

Hope you find all is well after all. As we hope ours is as its our first time out using the fc since October last year.

It does look here to stay for quite a bit. Just hope we do not run into flooding as it take us a while to get it all down and away.
