After having a caravan for a few years we sold it in 2010 and didn't think we would get another caravan as we cannot store it at home and we were storing it in Ashwell which was a 30 mins drive away. We still yearn for the odd weekend away and have decided to look at getting a folding camper as this will be able to be kept at home. Can i ask if there are any makes and or models we should avoid.

depends on your budget really ,if going for new there seem to have been problems with the new acrylic type ones ,might be sorted by now but be aware ,if a older canvas one is on the cards get the 6 berth type as they give as much room as a caravan and only take a few minutes to erect ,i.e pullman ,sterling etc ,plenty about on here and on e/bay

Yes as above even the biggest pennine group campers weigh in at 1000kg so easy enough to tow I have a Crusader that is very roomy.

I would second (or third) getting as big as you can manage and afford.  We have the pathfinder which is 6 berth but it is mainly just me and hubby in it, plus dogs.  The space means that we don't need to use any awning at all if only camping for a short time.  we do have an adapted porch awning but really only use this because of the dogs and even then not all the time.  The full awning is great for longer stays though .
