Hi all,

I like the idea of a simple set-up that some of the trailer tents seem to have e.g the Raclet Solena for a quick weekend getaway (without awning).

My only concern is how do you dry them when you get home? we only have pathway access to our back garden so would not be able to erect a T.T when home to dry off.

We do have a 2 garages 'in a block', would you just park in front of the garage when you're home to dry off (obviously keeping an eye on it!)?

I think this is the only thing that is putting us off a T.T.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

If you don't have space to put the TT up you can always remove the canvas and drape it over things such as kids trampoline in the garden.

Our Solena and awning just fit on our driveway & front lawn. Our back garden is on a slope and only has access via a footpath, so the 'front garden test' was one of the deciding factors in its purchase.

If this is a concern then I would consider buying a Dandy.

These are made from PVC and not canvas so can be put away wet if necessary without having to be dried out first like canvas does.

They open out of a trailer and can be used without an awning, even the smallest one has two double beds with a cooker and sink. You can put them up and down in ten or fifteen minutes.

We have had one for a couple of years now and I can really recommend them for their excellent build quality.

Are the garages full of stuff? Most TT's will easily fit through a garage door and open out in one well enough to dry out even if there is not enough space to open fully. The car would be much easier to secure in from of the garage than an opened out trailer tent in the same position i think.
