Ended up going down this route as I was a little concerned with the hitch weight of 4 bikes on a Maxxraxx and the turning space between the bikes an the TT storage box.

Really glad I did it. Tows well, good rear visibility through the bikes. Easier to mount and demount. Full access to boot.

First camp of the year and did not expect to have to dig myself in!

I made my own, partly because I could not get hold of a new one at the time and partly cos I wanted a project. Worked with a local metal basher as I did not have the workshop facilities. Made it out of stainless steel as the material costs were not that different especially when you have to consider that steel needs additional protection.

It fixes to the trailer in the same way the proper one does however I have designed such that you can just lift the lot up and off while leaving the mounts in position. Makes it real quick to get on and off. The jubilee clips allows it drop back on the trailer in the exact position to line up with the predrilled locking holes. There are a few and these allow for different heights depending on how the trailer is packed.

Once the bikes are off the hand wheels to the cross bars can be loosened so the whole thing can lay flat under one of the under bed pods away from prying eyes (given the cost of scrap metal these days).

Cheers, that was part of it the Trigano did not look all that and I could not get one at the time cos the dealers were out of stock. Cost me more than the manufactures one but if I had access to my on workshop It would have been cheaper

Thanks. I'll have to have a look at my drawings when I'm back home.

From memory the tube is 25mm dia with a 2mm wall thickness. The bends will be a combination of the shape you want v's what the tube will take before it bends to much.

The tube is stainless. More expensive but then you dont have to paint or galvanise it.

The uprights have various holes in them so that I can adjust the height off the top of the trailer depending on what is squeezed under the cover. In reality and for ease or mounting/demounting jubile clips serve as stops so that the holes line up with the locking thumbwheels.

Neither poster has been active for two years so you could be out of luck with a reply.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Hi and welcome.

I made mine but trigano do make their and sell them. Depending on your skills and workshop facilities you could make your own or just bite the bullet and buy one.

Either way it’s so much better towing this way than on the roof or off the boot
