You can indeed get a kit, although I believe its quite pricy? I think Griff made his own?

Just trying to provide lots of options!

Griff! That's it I knew someone had, but I couldn't remember who!

Hi we are a family of 5 (3 adults, 2 teens 16 & 18, and a 6 year old! We have a dandy 5 and all sleep well as there are 2 large double beds and a small bed (very small). There is very little room in the main camper, but have to say a day tent or a porch awning (takes minutes to erect) is a good investment. this combo means we have a small trailer on our drive, but enough beds for everyone, and a spill over with day tent or awning. Drying out a canvas trailer tent would have been a no go for us as we live on a very steep hill and the drive is only just big enough for a camper so opening up is a no no. the dandy ticks all boxes for us as it has an internal kitchen, enough beds, can be packed away wet, easy to tow, and very quick to erect. Dandies are definately not a luxurious camper, ours is old, but you can do with them what you like to make it more comfy/cozy looking. Just thought I would post as we ACTUALLY are a family of 5, lots depends on what you really want, small campers usually mean not a lot of storage space etc, but we are suprized how much stuff we actually can get in our Dandy, which means our car (ford focus) only has fridge, clothes, food etc in.

Are we there yet?!

We are only 4, but having 2 teens of opposite sexes means we need a unit suitable for 5.

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who will think I'm soft, but hey ho. DD uses our underbed tent. There isn't room under there to put on a rain coat and wellies, so for us, camping in the UK, that means underbed tent = awning. Thats a fairly major factor in our choice of a quick erect awning; even for one night we need it.

All the best,
Alison
