Has anyone had a problem with zipping in the groundsheet on the front edge of the Olympe?? After unfolding the tent and pegging out (starting at back - is this right?), the lower edge of the front of the tent was a few inches too high to meet up with the zip on the groundsheet, and I couldn't see a way of lowering the front of the tent to give the slack on the canvas needed. Also, should the groundsheet be zipped in prior to, or after pegging out? This was our first time out in our new Olympe, and despite this minor teething trouble, which I'm sure will turn out to be user error, I would recommend it to anyone - bags of space and quick and easy to erect!

Once the unit is up, with front door attached/zipped in and the cover in front of the beds and cabin area attached.

Make sure that the cover in front of the beds and cabin area is pegged vertically.

Then just peg the two front corners of the TT then zip in the ground sheet. I don`t bother to peg the ground sheet down as personally I can`t see the point....just my opinion.

Once you have done the above peg the two back corners of the TT then fully peg it down.

Hope it helps.

Griff

Ours is smaller, but similar, and we zip in first. We peg out the corner guy lines as soon as the frame is up, then, like Griff, make sure that the skirt is nice and straight, then zip in, then peg the canvas. The groundsheet then gives you a template to peg the canvas out, something we seem to need!

We do use the corner pegging points on the groundsheet, in case it helps keep it flat, but we only have 3 after pitching in high wind and it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference!

Bear in mind that it will only look like the brochures on a perfectly level pitch, so a degree of wonkiness is to be expected!

Alison

Make sure you have only extended all the poles to the first button so start with.

ALWAYS PEG THE FRONT CORNERS FIRST. Use good size pegs.

We have had a few customers who put the unit up and before they knew it, a gust of wind comes along and blows the canvas over bending a few poles!
Zip in the groundsheet next so you know how wide to peg the sides out.

Chris

I'm not disagreeing with you about pegging the corners, but for what its worth my experience of pitching in wind (not one I'd care to repeat if I can help it), is that the corner guys with Delta pegs are far more likely to hold than the canvas! We always peg those guys as soon as its up, for just the reasons you give.

Children are quite useful as well, just stand there and whatever you do don't let go!!

Alison

Thanks all for your advice, it is much appreciated.

We are going away again in a couple of weeks so will try the tips out!
