We recently bought a second hand Conway Coniston trailer tent and now not sure wether it was an impulse buy or a good idea!!

The main concern is the bulky kitchen part on the back and what is a good way to try and make it less noticeable when cooking outside,maybe a day tent would be an idea.

our tent was a Sunncamp Victory 600 a large tent lots of room and a small covered area at the front for the kitchen stand and cooker,

what do you folks think? maybe a weekend away in the trailer would help us deciede!!!

Do you not have an area in the trailer tent for the kitchen?

It's a fairly large kitchen unit and I don't really like cooking inside, me personally I don't mind it outside under a gazebo but the boss lady thinks it doesn't look very nice!!!

Our Trigano trailer tent has a big kitchen - the tent has a Kitchen area - when the kitchen is installed in that area it is quite safe to cook there. The kitchen has a lid which acts as a backstand so there is not way the flames could reach the canvas. We never leave the cooker unattended and I'm sure it's all quite safe. i can't see how a day tent would be safer

Our T/T doesn't have an area where it fits into that's the main problem it would take up to much living space inside!!

Oh dear - maybe a gazebo or front porch/awning would work - hope you find a solution.

What about a kitchen/utility tent? You can close it up when it's not in use.

I hadn't thought of this being a problem but we haven't used our TT yet.  When we bought it though it was errected and the kitchen section was to the side of the awning and away from the sleep area.  I guess I will find out soon if it is as practical as I am hoping it will be or I too need to find some other place to position the cooking section.

i have never liked cooking inside the tent,trailer tent and now the folding camper.for me it has always been about steam and smells rather than safety.so we use a sunncamp day tent for cooking,and is a great place to store stuff.aswell as dry stuff out.
