We've this week gone away and 2 of us have been ill today. Youngest at 8 thrown up 3 times and I've been having stomach pains and not feeling too good at all.
As it's only affected 2 of us I have deduced we were the only ones to drink water without it being boiled.
I think we've caught some water based / pipework bug.
Never crossed my mind to sterilise it.. Does anyone else do this with their fc?
I think it's a good word of warning to throughly clean the water tanks and pipes each year.
Maybe sterilisation tablets would do...?

Wow, that's some bad luck. This is in the uk?

We have never sterilised our system but only really use it raw when taking medication etc, usually it goes in the kettle. On our FC the whole system only consists of about 1.5m of pipe work and the plastic can we use as a tank gets a quick rinse each time we start a break.

I have never liked the aftertaste of steriliser tabs.

We sterilize the water system before we put the fc away for the winter

Yes we are in the new forest... Not stopped raining all day grr

Think might give the tank a good clean and only use it for washing etc.

Maybe there was some left that didn't get a good rinse in the tank.

Might not be that but never know

Sterilising tablets don't actually sterilise the system at all, they only sterilise the water itself so the sterilised water is still dragging the bacteria that is clinging to the internal water pipes. Puriclean is the product you need but click on the link below and it explains what each product does.
