We abanoned ship last night and night early from a very windy and wet Abergele.
You all know how little space you have when camping, you would have laughed at the packing we had to do in the pouring rain. For any witnesses to use having to roll on the tent to remove its huge air pocket in the pouring rain, it was not as funny as it looked.
Glad we packed away as we did not want our new tent ripping

Just come back from five nights near Richmond in Swaledale. My 26yo tardis held up to the wind in quite an exposed site, but not to 3 days of almost relentless driving rain. I was very impressed that it only leaked where the wind was making the poles rub against the canvas tbh, there was not a single leak at any other point and although there was some serious groaning in the wind, nothing bent or broke. Since it is so old, I carry a variety of things for fixing emergency break downs, daughters bed was kept dry thanks to two small tarps, some cable ties and some of those marvellous 'cling on' things. I had to swap beds with the dogs, but that worked fine (in fact, they may not get theirs back!). I realised that I had forgotten the awning tie down kit and panicked, I need not have, it held completely fast and I couldn't even do what I normally do which is park the car close up to provide some shelter as it was too muddy to get the car on and off the field!

Site was just amazing, will be writing a review when I am not so exhausted tomorrow!

Got back today from Fforest Fields in wales.

Been there since last weekend.  Our Conway Cardale coped with everything trown at it -DRIVING plentiful rain, not a drip through the canvas and the good old gale force winds.....

For an old girl - I'm very proud of her.

I did learn one thing though - I am never pitching on a hardstanding again. Really hard work getting the pegs in and we had a pooling of water in the middle of the pitch under the groundshhet , which was horrible when we took it up today.

Mr Dozy wanted to pack up and come home yesterday, because of all the constant rain. I managed to convince him to stay 'til today as sun was forecast. So we packed up in full sun and the whole of the canvas was bone dry , so no having to get out and dry it out again.  Happy days.

ps. I love my heater.

We were at Yaxham Waters in Norfolk. Supposed to stay until today but had to abandon the site Friday afternoon as the wind was getting worse, esp as everyone around us had left so we were getting battered. Our poor Sunncamp is sopping wet in the garage so we are praying for some warm weather soon to get her out and dry her properly.

Fair play to anyone who stayed until the end. Lots of us lost gazebos, wind breakers, awnings and porches!

This is our poor Sunncamp surrounded by puddles after the big storms we had at Yaxham Waters in Norfolk.

We came home yesterday after spending 6 days at Mill Farm, Bridgewater,

Really impressed with our Conway Classic Trio!!

As i sit here typing hubby is down in the river by our house washing the  mud out the ground sheet!!

So glad the sun came out late friday and yesterday so we were able to pack everything away dry.

We came back yesterday from a camp site just outside Bath. Got a right battering on Thursday night but very pleased to say our folding camper got though it unscathed.

Might have been helped by the tree line providing shelter from the Westerly winds, but it was the prospect of having work tomorrow rather than the weather that had us return.

We were due to come back yesterday from the Isle of Wight but came on a late afternoon ferry on Saturday instead.  TBH we would have come back sooner but they had taken the ferries off on Thursday so they were jam packed when they put them back on.  On the bright side though, Saturday was dry and sunny so we managed to pack up dry.
