I use a tent when I'm on my own as I don't need all that space and struggle to get the tt up on my own. I shoulld think that it depends on how big a tent would be acceptable - mine's tiny and goes up in a couple of seconds

We are looking to to get a weekend tent, anything under 4 days is not worth the time to erect/strike with the TT (don't get me wrong we absolutely love our Sunny) but it's alot of work for a short trip in my opinion.

this is why we went from tt to fc.as the main unit on the tt was not any good by it self.as where the fc is fine as a stand alone unit.

I'm not insured for DH's car, which has the towbar, so if its just the kids and me we use a tent. It seems to take just as long to pitch though, and still has to be dried!

I think the hour and a half that it takes to get all sorted with the awning up and everything pegged down is well worth it, even for a couple of nights away...

I use a Bell tent for weekends

Fantastic 10 mins to put up and doesn't matter if its wet when packing up as its 10 min to put up in back garden 17

Wouldn't go for any less than 5 nights in the Stratos as its just to much hassle IMO

We have a Jamet Jametic so we use it for weekends as it is easy to put up. It is a pain to dry though!

Yes, it's not the setting up, we always do an overnight stay travelling to France , , it's the potentially needing to dry out when we get back home, as we cannot open it Fully in our garage it means setting up on the drive when we have some dry weather, which there seems to be a shortage of.lately. A tent can be draped around he house!

To be fair this year we haven't managed a weekend away anyway due to the demands of a large family, and generally have 3 /4 weeks in France in the summer, and a week a whiitsun, and then weather permitting a few days I've Easter , so we are not convinced a weekend tent would. Come int use now we have thought about it!

We've only had out TT a few days. However it's far quicker to set up than our Icarus 500. Not as much loading and unloading the car. Blowing up airbeds etc.
In my honest opinion the TT is far quicker and warmer.
Still have a soft spot for the Icarus though.

Same here. Have a four night minimum rule for our Stratos. Anything less we take the Guadeloupe. If my gf had her way, we would take the small tent every time. It's so quick and easy compared to the TT, but I love the Stratos and it's staying. End of !!!
