Hi,
We will be having our first outing with our FC later this month and as much as I am hoping for good weather, the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if we have to pack away wet. We store it on our drive so will have to wait until there is a dry day to dry it out. So how long will we have before we are in danger of getting some mould or it getting smelly?

Thanks

Michele

Hi michelle, I would open it up as soon as possible, and if you have room on the drive leave it up till it is fully dry.

Yes, that is definitely the plan, but the way the weather is going at the moment I can see it being a while before we get a dry day so just wondered if damage would be done in 3 or 4 days.

I would advise opening it up as soon as possible even if it is still raining. The problem is 'anerobic conditions' (no ventilation) when the FC is closed up.

Being out in the rain won't cause mould, it's leaving it closed and damp that is the issue. I've often had to wait a day before opening up (coming back from  thecontinent on overnight ferry for example), and got away with it but I wouldn't want to wait much longer, and certainly not 3 - 4 days.

You will also be surprised how quick it will dry once you get an hour or two of sun especially if windy. Also wipe the plastic windows over with a microfibre cloth once its stopped raining to assist in getting those dry

We wer away last weekend whenw e had really heavy rain all SAturday night and drizzle early morning. We had about a two hour window when sun came out and wind was blowing. After about an hour we were dry and so could pack down dry
