We have always managed to pack just about everything in or on our Jamet trailer tent.  The crockery, cutlery and utensils live in the kitchen unit in transport and in situ.  The awning, porta potti, barbecue, fire bucket, EHU lead, waste bin, lamps, scrabble board, badminton set, toaster, kettle heater, water containers (both clean and waste), chairs all travel inside the body, under the folded bed boards.  The table, toilet tent, fishing rods, body boards, wet suits, stepladder (which doubles as a sacktruck)  , kites we lay on top of the folded canvas, under the waterproof cover!

As we need to have access to the sleeping bags year round - for sleepovers, and weekend trips in the Combi-Camp Easy, these get chucked in the boot of the car together with our clothes.  We have a bike rack bolted to the tow-bar of the car which takes all 4 of our bikes, and carry our kayaks on the car roof rack!

Now we've acquired our new  Combi-Camp Family, I'll be looking at a new packing regime!

We had a Conway Camborne trailer tent.  You can get a fair bit of stuff into them when folded up.  All the kitchen stuff stayed in the kitchen for transit.  Ours had a rack on top which I made some bike carriers to go on.  The rack will be manufacturer dependant but some have made thier own out of box section.

We traded ours in for a Crusader folding camper. With wife pregnat it was a strugle for me on my own to get the kitchen off the trailer and put the awning up.  Another thing is the awning always had to go up. With the FC we had a kitchen in the main unit. Made it easier for that short weekend. You can get Trailer tents like the Chalenger or Countryman that have the kitchen inside.

we have a trigano tt,only things that go in the car are food/beer box, fridge,telly and coats,trainers,wellies etc.oh and kids.

hi we upgraded  last year from frame tent and most of equipment in trailer ,to a raclet trailer tent.everything we take now fits  in the trailer along with the canvas etc there are large locker style boxes that are really usefull.down both sides that double as seats , yes you can store stuff in the kitchen unit whilst travelling we usually wrap it in t towels.the awning we have is a large one but only takes about half an hour to put up  less than our frame tent used to!!.i guess it depends what size awning you go for and some trailer tents are designed that you dont have to put the awning up on overnight stops.we always take some bits of wood to put under the legs in case its muddy but use more if camping on a slope to level them out.the wind down legs are adhustable as well. we always make beds before we go including sleeping bags and you can always squeeze some more stuff on top of folded unit before you put the final cover over.weve never looked back.trailer tents are brill ....we also have a storage box on the a frame of the trailer which is really usefull usually fits gas bottle and frisge plus more

hi If i were you I would insist on trying to open and close it our selves before buying.  the old man and me bought one some years ago we had great holidays in it (but boy was it heavy to open and close) the only reason we parted with it was it got too much for us.but so saying I know that conay tt's and cabanon are good buysthey will last a life time if looked after properly
