Dear Campers,

I have a Pennine Fiesta 1999 trailer tent. Although the elecs works when the mains are connected, nothing works when the battery is connected and selected without the mains electrics. When the camper battery is connected and selected without the mains, the 12 volt panel meter does not register and the pump will not work. These both work as soon as the mains is connected.

All the fuses seem OK, the battery is new and fully charged. The only thing I can think it may be is the main fuse. Can I find it? NO! I have looked for it everywhere but no luck.

I would appreciate any help and advice in getting the battery system to work as I am off tomorrow and am on a pitch without a electric hook up and need to use the battery.

Many thanks
Debs

Many thanks for your replies. I have read the old thread and looked in the cupboard and there is no fuse to be seen.

With regards to the volt meter, due you mean the meter marked car/caravan with the little meter marked green/red with the needle? If you are I have tried switching to either and nothing is happening. I can only think it's the main fuse but can I find it?

Please help, I am off on holiday tomorrow.

Debs x

There should be an On/Off switch on the top of the transformer/Charger (is that the fuse box?)

According to the manual there is a Mains polarity switch and a 12v switch if you switch the 12v one ,a light should come on and you have to have the Car/Van selector switch at the volt meter should be set to Van.

Thanks I'll give it a go when I arrive - There definitely isn't a light so maybe my trailer is an older model.

Best wishes

On some early Conway models you had to plug the car lead (you know the one that you plug into the car when towing) into a socket on the A frame to complete the 12V circuit. I have no knowledge of the Pennine system but thought it might be worth checking.

Ok. The whole 12v system isn't working. Battery charged, everything is switched correctly. Mike, your comment about putting the plug into the A frame is something I haven't tried where am I supposed to put the plug? I never found the main fuse either. I'm not daft I am actually trying all you suggestions. Debs.

Hi,
have you tried tracing the 'complete' 12volt circuit?
I don't know if these are ever 'professionally ' installed,
ours certainly was not and we could not find an 'input' wire for the battery. it turned out every thing went back to a 'master' connecting block and the battery legs were missing, if all 'if any' fuses are intact, and it is not a professionally installed system there could well be an area where something 'is missing' and breaks the circuit.
regards
don

Although there are 12v fuses on the front of my consumer unit, there is also an In-line Fuse on the floor, under the consumer unit and near the battery box.

Could this be the one that has blown?
