Hi all,

We have a 2006 Conway Cruiser and would like to get an awning extension, however the official matching one is silly money and I wondered if anyone had tried a universal one and whether they fitted the awning on a Conway Cruiser.

Anyone had any experience with this combination?

Simon

My brother had a couple for the caravan awning a while back and I reckon they'd fit a Conway OK - I kept one for my Pathfinder when they sold the 'van "just in case" - it's still in the shed untouched as I don't even take the big awning away.

They were OK, but not as good as a proper fitted extension. The biggest problem with the ones he bought was that the inners were fairly see-through! Would let a lot of light in if you'd got youngsters sleeping, and definitely didn't suit my (then) teenage niece being "on view". A simple bit of curtain material would cure that though.

If you'd be interested in acquiring one cheap drop me a message and we can maybes do a deal.

Glen

Hi Glen,

Thanks for the feedback, interesting to hear what you say as it would be for our 10 year old son to sleep in so the light and "being on show" elements might be a problem.

Not sure if we are going to go ahead with one or not at this stage but if you do decide I'll drop you a message to see if you still have yours. Out of interest what colour is it and do you know what make model so I can have a look online?

Anyone else actually tried one of these univeral jobs on a Cruiser?

Cheers

Simon

Hi, glen (sorry for hijack, sjqillett).   I understand you might be wanting to get rid of your universal awning extension. We would be very interested in that. Might I ask the general area where you live to see if it would be convenient? We are in the southeast. Many thanks.

Oops - didn't realise my location wasn't on my profile! I live near Northampton (which would have suited for Simon as I also spend time in MK)!

I'll have to drag it out of the shed at parents' house and have a look at what it is - I'm away this weekend so it may be a week or so but I can then give a few more details.

Glen
