Hi
when towing the 1995 Pennine Pullman the cover keeps ballooning up making it difficult to see behind. This happens at speed on motorways. Any ideas how to stop it, or why its happening - I've tightened the elastic shock cord as much as I can.

Hi it's just the wind probably, try putting one or two buggees across the middle to stop it.

I used to do that with mine, 3 of them in thirds down the length of the trailer. You have to get them tight though otherwise it still billows.

Never had that ... even towing at 80 mph in France.
I wonder whether your elastic cording has become too 'weathered' and needs replacing?

Our Pullman gets a small blimp at the back edge of the unit when towing but mostly only when it's hot and sunny. It blows up to probably 6-8" high.

Does the cover fit well or has it become baggy?

I just put a couple of old pillows under the cover to make it tight seems to work for me.

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago.  My transit cover is less than a year old so I contacted Pennine and they sent me  new elastic rope/cord.  I have just returned from holiday and transit cover was fine all the way there and back.

Thnx for ideas guys. Have tried straps across back and length ways. Where can I get new shock cord? I know its lost a lot of its elasticity. and the cover sags.

Its usually cars that are taller than the van that cause this like sharans and galaxys and is the way the air flows over it. You can use a coupke nof bungees overs the top to secure it.

Go on eBay for the shockcord - usually half the price of places like B&Q especially for the length you need. When fitting remember to make it short enough to stretch. Put the cover on and then feed the shock cord through so it it almost tight just through the eyelets . Once pulled down over the round hooks that should give it enough of a stretch to hold tight.

We have a Penninne Pathfinder, and suffered this issue but no more.

The trick is to start fastening up from the back first and making sure these are tight before continuing towards the front.

Never had it happen again!

Yes, I was quite surprised to see this. I can't see over ours anyway, so a little billowing makes not much difference!
