Do you mind me asking why you've missed your camper and going to give up your van?

Hi, thanks for replying. I asked because after years of tenting a trailer tenting we have decided to move on, firstly we thought about a little caravan then settled on a fc, a conway continental in fact. We have decided that we would miss the 'camping' feel if we had a van so a fc is halfway. We already have a fridge, heaters and hook up so the Continental being lighter than the other would suit us I think.

prob will go to a caravan in a few years,so we can go all year round

We are the same, had everything.

At the mo we are back to a tent, but its too basic for us, we like 2 weeks in France and don't like the airbed for that long! We had a camp-et before but found one of the downsides with the whole thing going up in one, it was no good for over night stops. So take this in to consideration, or not if you don't do over night stops?!

I appreciate the arguments for and against caravans and folding campers. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses so its really down to personal prefence more than anyhting else.  

I am happy with either but a caravan does give you that bit of extra protection from the lovely British summer weather.
