we have owned our trailer tent for over a year now and it has always been stored outside. with the winter months approaching i wanted to take advantage of the good weather to open it up and take all the canvass off and store it safely indoors however when i removed her cover i noticed it was drenched full of water the canvass is moldy, plywood beds ruined.
in a panic i removed all the canvasses and tried drying them and hoped this would be enough but as i wash brushing the mold the canvass was just ripping on me, we are absolutely distraught it has always been stored outside with no problems.
could anyone please tell me if my insurance would cover me for this?, i am with caravan guard and pay approx 78 per year?
And would anyone know an approximate cost for the renewal of ll sections of a canvass, i have cbanaon galaxy any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
every ones nightmare......
our insurance will not cover mould etc.

there are a lot of canvas repairer firms out there, if you google 'canvas repairs, you should find one fairly local to speak to.

the 'ply beds' should be easy enough to replace from your local diy store

regards
don

it depends on the terms on the insurance, best place to start looking for new canvas is http://www.tentvaletingservices.co.uk/ give them a ring they will sort you out but check out the insurance first

What a shame ...

I've just had the door zip replaced.  I was looking for a local company, and when I called one, I was given another number - 01204 708131.  When I called they explained that they had taken over the work of the other company!

I packed up my canvas, they sent a courier, replaced the zip and couriered it back.  Very easy!  Don't know how competetive they are - £20 to collect, £15 to return, £45 for zip - £80 total.

They told me that they do the insurance work for Penine.  I wouldn't know if that's true or not, but they've done a good job for me!

Also, at least one if not both of the bed ends have been replaced on my Aztec at some point, and it doesn't look too difficult.  I would think that the rivets would probably be the hardest job ...

Good luck!
